Songs

These are songs we sang on the trip. I can't place Hebrew here so I have done the English version of the hebrew and translated it.

Eili Eili | Hatikva | Ani Ma-amin | Hava Nagila | Hinei Ma Tov | Kol Ha-olam Kulo | Im Tirtzu

Eili Eili

Eili, Eili
Shelo yigamer l'alom
Hachol v'hayam
Rishrush shel hamayim
B'rak hashamayim
T'filat ha-adam

Oh lord, my God
I pray that these things never end
The sand and the sea
The rush of the water
The crash of the heavens
The prayer of the heart.

Hatikva

Kol od baleyva p'nimah
Nefesh y'hudi homiah
Ulfa-atei mizrach kadimah
Ayin l'tzion tzofiah
Od lo avda tikvateynu
Hatikva sh'not alpayim
Lih'yot am chofshi b'arthzeynu
Eretz tzion virushalayim As long as the Jewish heart beats,
And as long as Jewish eyes look eastwards,
Then our two thousand year hope
To be a free nation in Zion
Is not lost.

Ani Ma-amin

Ani ma-amin
be-emunah sh'lema
B'viyat ha-mashiach
V'af al pi she-yitmahmeah
Im kol zeh achakeh lo,
b'chol yom, sheyavoI believe with perfect faith in the comming of the Messiah;
And although he may tarry, I will wait daily for his coming.

Hava Nagila

Hava nagila v'nism'cha
Hava n'ran'na v'nism cha
Uru achim b'lev samei-ach.

Come let us be glad and rejoice.
Come sing and be gay.
Awake brothers with a joyful heart.

Hinei Ma Tov

Hinei ma tov uma na'im
Shevet achim gam yachad

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
When brethren dwell together in unity.

Kol Ha-olam Kulo

Kol ha-olam Kulo
gesher tzar m'od
V'ha-ikar lo l'fached klal.

The entire world is a narrow bridge
But the main things is not to fear

Im Tirtzu

Im Tirtzu
ein zo agada
Lih-yot am chofshi b'artzeinu
B'eretz Tziyon virushalayim.

If you will it, it is not a dream
To live as free people in our land
In the Land of Zion and Jerusalem.
